It was in 1954, on the corner of Bloor St. and Bedford St. in Toronto, that Swiss Chalet fired up its first slow-roasting rotisserie oven. Our delicious chicken, fresh cut fries, popular dipping sauce, and warm welcoming environment have been bringing Canadians back for more ever since. When Swiss Chalet first opened, the menu was simple, with Rotisserie chicken as the only entrée. Guests would visit the Swiss style dining room or the convenient take-out area to enjoy their meals. Our unique combination of delicious rotisserie chicken, zesty Chalet dipping sauce, and fresh cut fries – all prepared from the freshest of ingredients has made Swiss Chalet a tasty favourite of Canadians everywhere.

Today, the rotisserie – a large open-flamed oven that slowly roasts the chicken in its own juices so it’s crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside – is still at the heart of every Swiss Chalet restaurant. Swiss Chalet currently has more than 200 restaurants across Canada serving up the country’s favourite Chicken dinner and a variety of other menu items – available in our dining room, for take-out, or delivery.

What can I expect as a franchisee?
As a Franchise partner at Swiss Chalet, you can expect to be immersed in a culture that is loyal, supportive and dedicated to the brand. We have some franchisees that have been with the brand for more than 25 years. Our Marketing and Operations teams work hard to support our franchise partners and the relationships are strong and ones of mutual understanding and respect. Our Associates are just as dedicated and loyal to the brand. We have some Associates that have tenure of more than 30 years.

If successful as a franchise candidate, you will engage in a 8 week, comprehensive training program that includes a combination of hands on training, online learning courses and in class courses. You will be fully prepared to run your own restaurant.
